This position includes a variety of tasks of a confidential nature.
Expectations are that this individual will work well as a team player with attorneys, paralegals, other legal assistants and other members of the firm.
There will be a substantial amount of interaction over the phone with clients and medical providers, so the candidate must be comfortable communicating over the phone in a professional manner.
Additionally, effective time management and organizational skills, coupled with a meticulous attention to detail, are necessary for this position.
Responsibilities Interaction with clients to obtain necessary medical information.
Contacting medical providers to obtain medical bills, medical records, reductions, etc.
Preparation of spreadsheets and calculation of payouts.
Keeping information in client database up to date.
Preparing and filing documents with courts.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Prior experience in a law firm, with extra consideration given to someone with experience in the personal injury area of practice.
Strong organizational and telephone/communication skills.
Extensive knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
